2021 History Symposium

Since 1990, a small group of dedicated historians have annually held a History Symposium in South-Western Ontario.  This year the event was due to return to its roots in London, Ontario, but COVID had other plans.  In continuing with our tradition, though, we have decided to host our 2021 History Symopsium entirely online.  Our event will take place on Saturday, February 27th, from 8:00 to 4:00 (EST).

We are thrilled to be able to host an exciting line-up of speakers from across Canada and around the globe.  Please click on the Speaker name and title for more details:

8:00 a.m. (EST) Eamonn O'Keeffe - Siblings or Subordinates? Brotherhood, Hierarchy, and Discipline among Napoleonic-era British Army Officers

10:00 a.m. (EST) Zack MacLeod Pinsent - Dressing the Dandy: The Wardrobe of a Regency Gentleman

1:00 p.m. (EST) Brent Piniuta - The Sinking of the Invincible

3:00 p.m. (EST) Carla-Jean Stokes - Over the Top: Iconic Image or Staged Fake?

Connection details will follow, but you are welcome to register for this event at any time by clicking on the link to the left.  Thanks to our generous donors, we are excited to be able to offer this year's Symposium FREE!
