Brent Piniuta: The Sinking of the Invincible


This is the story of the 18th century warship Invincible and its role in the geopolitical history of the Seven Years' War.

The presentation explores the ship's final expedition, it's loss off the South coast of England in 1758, and subsequent discovery in 1979. Discussion will include focus on the amazing array of artefacts recovered from the shipwreck.








Brent Piniuta, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a lifelong naval history enthusiast and volunteer historical researcher working with the National Museum of the Royal Navy, on the Diving Deep: HMS Invincible 1744 Exhibition.


Brent also acquired Scuba diving accreditation for an opportunity to dive on the Invincible wreck in 2016.
