History Symposium

In 1994, the Upper Thames Military Re-enactment Society hosted the first annual Living History Conference in London, Ontario.  With over 400 attendees, the Living History Conference was off to a great start.

Over the past 27 years, the Living History Conference has evolved into the War of 1812 Symposium and now the History Symposium.  The goal of the History Symposium continues to be to provide high-quality speakers on a variety of historical topics, though we will always feel drawn to our War of 1812 roots.

Heritage Days  (Faire at the Forks) was originally organized in 1988 to stage the War of 1812 Re-enactment of the Battle of the Thames in Chatham, Ontario. After the incredibly successful bicentennial re-enactment in 2013, Heritage Days expanded their focus to include other educational programs including the History Symposium and the Online Lecture series.

The current organizing committee of Heritage Days is made of a group of history enthusiasts whose goal is to share knowledge with as wide an audience as possible.
