Annual Conference

Since 1990, a small group of dedicated historians have annually held a History Symposium in South-Western Ontario.  Based on the success of our 2021 and 2022 online conferences, and the response of our international audience, we have decided to stay online for 2023!   It will take place on Saturday, February 25th, from 8:00 to 4:00 (EST) and Sunday, February 26th from 12:00 to 2:00 (EST).

The schedule for Saturday is (all times are in Eastern Standard Time):

  • 8:00 – Beatrice de Graaf on Hortense de Beauharnais
  • 10:00 – Andrew Field on the Prince of Orange
  • 1:00 – Alexander Mikaberidze on Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cabacérès
  • 3:00 – Everett Rummage on Toussaint Louverture
